Ondria Glaze was found at the scene on the 1300 block of South 70th Street on Sunday afternoon, May 5, authorities told Daily Voice.
"Ms. Glaze was our Special Education Compliance Monitor and long-time beloved Olney teacher," Olney High School Principal Michael Roth said in a statement.
"At Olney, we have a saying, 'Olney Love.' Ms. Glaze could truly be defined as 'Olney Love.' She embodied this mantra and blessed every student and staff member she came across," Roth wrote.
"She will be deeply missed and our condolences go out to her family, students, our staff, and the entire school community."
The School District of Philadelphia's Office of Prevention and Intervention will be on-site at the school this week with counselors and mental health professionals, he added.
A memorial vigil will be held at the school on Monday, May 13.
Olney High administrators have also launched a GoFundMe for a memorial scholarship in Glaze's name.
The "Ondria Glaze Olney Love Scholarship" will be awarded to a graduating senior every year, "helping them pursue their dreams and continue the positive impact that Ms. Glaze had on all of us," organizers wrote.
"Ms. Glaze has been a significant part of the Olney community for over 10 years, bringing light and joy wherever she went," Olney administrators said.
"Her kindness, dedication, and positive spirit have touched so many lives, and her loss leaves a void that cannot be filled."
"Together, we can ensure her legacy of love and kindness continues to inspire future generations."
